Mummifying a Nephilim?

As mentioned in the Nephilim rulebook p55 and the Gamemaster's Companion p11 and Major Arcana p11, the Pact with Menes resulted in the Nephilim being allowed to incarnate within royal bloodlines for before being mummified and sealed within tombs. At the funeral Solar-Ka was sacrificed to sanctify the tomb, itself an "inferior" replica of the Selenim's tombs. Within the tomb they would retain consciousness and be allowed to progress towards Agartha in silent contemplation.

How was this feat accomplished? We don't receive further info in the US version, but the French version offers some insights that may be applicable despite the extensive changes to the lore in the US version. One thing to keep in mind is that the Tombs didn't exist in the French version, but are an original creation of the US version. Otherwise, the material on mummification seems equally applicable to both versions. I have referred to the third edition GM's screen booklet, the third edition supplement on the Minor Arcana, and the fanzine Vision-Ka #6 for details to work in.

When the Nephilim made the Pact with Menes, they did so in agreement with other secret societies including the mortuary cult led by Selenim (who would later become the Unnamed Arcanum) and the Sisterhood of Isis. Mummification was developed in concert by the mortuary cult and the sisterhood for different reasons. The Mysteries of Isis developed embalming as a way to imprison Nephilim within the mummies, whereas the Selenim developed it as a way to preserve the Solar-Ka of the deceased so that necromancy could be practiced on them centuries after death. The Nephilim royalty would never have agreed to be imprisoned forever, but the Selenim necromancers developed tombs and funerary rites that would allow the mummified Nephilim to retain sentience and continue progressing towards Agartha.

Many mummified Nephilim still sleep beneath the sands. Unfortunately, many mummies were desecrated by grave robbers since medieval times, so many Nephilim may have been lost to the magic fields as a result. Presumably the Egyptomania and mummy unwrapping parties of the Victorian era resulted in the destruction or release of many Nephilim.

The ritual of embalming traps the Nephilim in a perpetual state of Semktet. As it relies on various amulets, linens, sarcophagi, and so forth, it can be performed by mortal Initiates. In Ka-vision, the mummy contains a spark of Solar-Ka and the Nephilim in Semktet. The ritual to liberate the Nephilim from the mummy must be performed under a Grand Enthronement of the mummy’s Dominant Ka. The ritualist must cut and remove the bandages with an Orichalc knife while saying prayers to Isis. The mummy must then be placed within a Nexus, where it will fill with charges like a Stasis item until the Nephilim is released to reincarnate.

The ritual of embalming has been largely forgotten by modern times, though the knowledge may still be preserved among secret societies like the Sisterhood of Isis. In the supplement Major Arcana, one of the adventure hooks involves a Hermit who mummified himself and retains awareness without any tomb.

The ritual of embalming may be performed on Selenim and Ar-Kaïm, although this is exceptionally rare. It functions similarly to a Stasis item, as mentioned above. Selenim continue to suffer Entropy in Stasis unless special considerations are made, such as placing them within a Sarcophagus designed for this purpose or using a special material such as Mesoamerican obsidian (condensed Black Moon-Ka). As shown in Serpent Moon, the Selenim have invented ways to place their bodies in suspended animation without embalming.
